About Me
I am a 42 year old mother of a five year old living in Illinois. I am an Educator by trade. I do volunteer work for Love Without Boundaries and have recently completed a Graduate Certificate in eLearning and Online Teaching.
I don't profess to be an expert, but I am marathoning through the steep learning curve of developmentally disabled people, their care and benefits.
About this Blog
In October 2009 my sister-in-law, Sharon moved in with my family upon the passing of my 86 year old mother-in-law. Sharon's move took her from the California coast to what would quickly be a very chilly Illinois. We have struggled through navigating benefits, establishing doctors and home rules and routines.
The purpose of this blog is to share resources, share the excitements and frustrations and to be a voice for those that are caring for siblings with developmental disabilities. Our journey is not nearly as challenging as that of others in our situation, but hopefully the documenting of our path helps someone who is questing as well.
